Stewart's: Slow Down & Enjoy The Little Things

In these stressful times, with the world moving so rapidly, we sometimes miss out on the little things in life. Why It’s Important To Slow Down…Listen, we understand how important it is to work hard and meet certain deadlines. But there are other times throughout our days, where we should probably focus more on building relationships with the people around us. Ordering meals through an app or online is fine every now and then, but maybe sitting down and enjoying a meal is what we’re missing more of these days? Dr. Stephanie Brown wrote a piece for the New York Times where she explained a bit about our modern day issues with interpersonal relationships. Here is a part of what she said:

“Instead of enhancing close bonds, technology has facilitated avoidance of direct person-to-person contact, which takes too much time. We maintain the illusion that we’re connected more closely than ever by the number of Facebook “likes” we accumulate. But it’s all fast, now, this instant. Everything is impulse. Our sense of connection exists in the action, not an accumulated, deepening experience.”
